Midterm Prayer Guide: October 11–17

Our 2026 Midterm Prayer Guide continues this week with daily prayer focuses for October 11–17, along with our weekly bonus prayer. This week, we’re praying for Republican candidates in Colorado, military families, voter registration in Louisiana, agricultural communities, key races in Georgia and North Carolina, and voters along the I-20 corridor.

If you’re just joining us, you can follow along with the complete 2026 Midterm Prayer Guide, with daily and weekly prayer focuses through Election Day and beyond.

October 11–17: Registration, Conservative Leaders, and the South

by Jensen Young

Bonus prayer: Colorado: Pray for the entire Republican Congressional delegation in Colorado to be retained, especially for Congressman Jeff Hurd and for Congressman Gabe Evans, whom we pray for specifically on Saturday, Oct. 10. I’m sure Congresswoman Lauren Boebert and Congressman Jeff Crank would appreciate some prayers this week as well.

October 11, 2026 — Vernon Parish and Military Families: Today is the last day of the West Louisiana Forestry Festival in Vernon Parish. Given that we prayed for the Army yesterday, we pray today for Fort Polk, the surrounding area, and Republican voters throughout Vernon Parish. Since some soldiers stationed there vote in other states, please also pray for soldiers and their families to vote absentee or early if they can’t be at the polls on Election Day.

October 12, 2026 — Columbus Day: It’s Columbus Day and Lara Trump‘s birthday. Since Columbus is the capital of Ohio and a major city in Georgia, pray for both Jon Husted in Ohio and Mike Collins in Georgia to be elected to the U.S. Senate, for statewide victories in both states, and for Lara Trump‘s media influence to be successful in helping Republicans get elected.

October 13, 2026 — Louisiana Voter Registration Deadline: Today is the deadline to register online to vote in Louisiana. Pray for smooth, secure, and safe elections in Louisiana and for Republican victories across Louisiana and America on Election Day, November 3.

October 14, 2026 — Charlie Kirk: Today is Charlie Kirk‘s birthday. Pray for the family he left behind and for Turning Point to be successful in identifying and deploying young conservatives to help Republican victories across America.

October 15, 2026 — International Rice Festival: Tonight is the opening night of the Rice Festival in Crowley. Pray for its success and for those in the rice industry and rice country in Louisiana and beyond to vote Republican.

October 16, 2026 — Georgia and North Carolina: Georgia and North Carolina both have 16 electoral votes and critical races up and down the ballot. Pray for the key U.S. Senate races — Collins in Georgia and Whatley in North Carolina — U.S. House races in both states, and the Governor’s race in Georgia.

October 17, 2026 — The I-20 Corridor: Louisiana Tech and the University of Louisiana Monroe play football against each other for the first time in years in an Interstate 20 showdown. No matter who wins, pray that voters who live near Interstate 20 in Louisiana and other states vote Republican overwhelmingly.

Coming next: October 18–24, with mail voting, Pennsylvania, Louisiana early voting, Alaska, California, rural voters, and Make a Difference Day.

Facts First. Even When They’re Inconvenient.

Some outlets or groups tell you what to think. Others have discovered there’s an easier way to build an audience: tell people exactly what they want to hear. We’ve chosen a harder path.

At Citizens for a New Louisiana, we start with the evidence — public records, financial disclosures, court filings, voting records, audits, and original documents — and follow it wherever it leads. Sometimes the facts confirm what we expected. Sometimes they surprise us. Sometimes they disappoint our friends. Either way, we publish them.

That approach doesn’t always produce the loudest headlines or the easiest fundraising. But over time, it produces something much more valuable: TRUST. If you value independent Louisiana journalism that puts evidence ahead of outrage and principle ahead of tribe, please help us continue the work.
