Our 2026 Midterm Prayer Guide reaches its final two days before the polls close: November 2–3. This final installment preserves Jensen Young’s daily prayers for the day before Election Day and Election Day, with a new bonus emphasis on voters who are still undecided.
If you’re just joining us, you can follow the complete 2026 Midterm Prayer Guide, which began with Louisiana qualifying on August 5.
November 2–3: The Final Prayers Before the Polls Close
by Jensen Young
As I write just after midnight on Monday, November 2, developments in Michigan on Sunday have brought a new prayer need into focus. Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Haley Stevens attended church with Republican U.S. Senate candidate and former Congressman Mike Rogers, endorsed him, and said she would vote for him.
That news made it abundantly clear to me that the extra prayer emphasis should be on genuinely undecided voters, especially in Michigan. These voters often have genuine questions about candidates after seeing television commercials or late-arriving mailers. I ran into someone in my Sunday school class who needed help understanding a negative ad they had seen here in Louisiana.
I hope and pray Congresswoman Stevens’ endorsement helps elect Republicans in Michigan and beyond. It brings to mind Georgia Democratic U.S. Senator Zell Miller’s support for President George W. Bush in 2004.
Bonus prayer — November 2–3: Undecided Voters. Pray especially for voters who are still undecided and trying to sort through conflicting claims about candidates. Pray that their questions are answered honestly and that they have the wisdom and discernment to make informed decisions as they cast their ballots.
Let me be clear: this new emphasis doesn’t change the daily prayers in the Midterm Prayer Guide. And for those of us in Louisiana who are used to Saturday elections, remember that Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
November 2, 2026 — The Day Before Election Day: Tomorrow is Election Day, so I encourage you to pray for the Republicans you have either already voted for or will vote for tomorrow. As for those of us who live in Louisiana, please pray for Congresswoman Julia Letlow‘s success in becoming our next U.S. Senator. After you’re done praying, it’s okay to remind a few folks to go vote tomorrow.
November 3, 2026 — Election Day: It’s Election Day, so if you haven’t voted, go vote. While you should pray for Republican voters to turn out in droves, it’s also perfectly fine to remind your friends and family to go vote Republican today as well.
Thank You for Joining This Journey of Prayer
I’m very thankful that some of you probably prayed more than I did for Michigan and Ohio last week, as we requested in the bonus prayers of the Midterm Prayer Guide.
I want to thank everyone who has been on this journey of prayer. I think it’s appropriate to close with a passage of Scripture I have heard my friend, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, talk about lately.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.

Facts First. Even When They’re Inconvenient.
Some outlets or groups tell you what to think. Others have discovered there’s an easier way to build an audience: tell people exactly what they want to hear. We’ve chosen a harder path.
At Citizens for a New Louisiana, we start with the evidence — public records, financial disclosures, court filings, voting records, audits, and original documents — and follow it wherever it leads. Sometimes the facts confirm what we expected. Sometimes they surprise us. Sometimes they disappoint our friends. Either way, we publish them.
That approach doesn’t always produce the loudest headlines or the easiest fundraising. But over time, it produces something much more valuable: TRUST. If you value independent Louisiana journalism that puts evidence ahead of outrage and principle ahead of tribe, please help us continue the work.
