It’s all about the map

There are some very odd things happening this weekend, which promises to erupt across the state tomorrow (Monday). The Gang of 23 (those 23 legislators who abandoned the Republican super-majority and joined with JBE and every single Democrat to elect Clay Schexnayder Speaker of the House) have been calling into Republican Parish Executive Committees asking for them to pass a pre-written, very wordy resolution in support of a veto override.

What’s odd about this is these Republican Parish Executive Committees don’t regularly do this kind of thing. Normally, this kind of action is reserved for the State Republican Party. It also directly impacts our US Congressional delegation. Why aren’t either one of those taking a position in favor? This is all very suspicious.

Don’t just sit there, do something!

If you hadn’t learned this information here, would you have ever found out about it? Citizens for a New Louisiana is the only organization in Louisiana dedicated to reforming local government. With the help of numerous volunteers we are making some progress. However, there’s much more work we could be doing. Making a difference will take a little more than reading an article every now and then. Your community doesn’t need another spectator. They need someone willing to step onto the field and become a real part of the solution.
