StateLens – Now Accepting Applications
Last year, New Louisiana Foundation launched what has become one of the most remarkable transparency platforms ever devised for state legislatures. It has become incredibly popular with legislators, lobbyists, and grassroots activists thanks to its unique application. Beyond helping the public track legislation, StateLens allows participating organizations to publish their bill positions directly on the platform—making their views visible to legislators, media, and the public in real time. Organizations that publish their bill positions on StateLens often find lawmakers referencing those positions directly during committee debates and floor discussions.
The project started out in Louisiana, but surrounding states took notice quickly. Today, it's live in both Louisiana and Oklahoma, with Maryland on deck. Other interested states include Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, and many more.
