Join us for "Secret" Lunch on Friday, February 10th as we hear from Dave Dixon, President of Dredge the Vermilion, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to helping local governments identify flooding risks and proposing solutions to reduce this risk. His talk will identify the unintended consequences of past flood water management projects in our watershed. The focus will be on risks in the greater Lafayette area. An overview of the Teche-Vermilion watershed and how it drains to the Gulf of Mexico will be presented and a list of flood mitigation projects will be reviewed including their status. Lunch is $25 at the door. Extra donations are welcome because the cost for these lunches actually exceeds the $25 we charge.

Thursday, the Baton Rouge Chapter will have our bi-monthly lunch gathering.
We're ordering from Roly Poly. So if you'd like to have lunch waiting for you when you arrive, check the menu and let me know what you'd like me to order.
As usual, we'll need a good headcount for the food, so please let us know you're coming as well as how many guests you're bringing. We can still accept cash or checks at lunch, or you can also use a card to cover the cost of your lunch in advance.
Save the date for the Voting Systems Commission "recommendation" meeting in Baton Rouge. It's being held an hour earlier, at 9:00am in Senate Committee Room E at the Capitol. If you'd like to attend, you're welcome to park at our office at 530 Lakeland Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70802, or in the parking lot across the street. Street parking is reserved for Spanish Town residents. So, don't park on the street or you could be ticketed. Due to the early hour, we'll have some refreshments, but won't be able to cater in hot food. Please do RSVP below if you know you're coming and indicate how many guests you're bringing. This is a free gathering, but please chip in if you'd like to help cover expenses. Chip In
