Schools are for education not mental health screenings.
During the senate hearing on this bill, the question was asked, "If we have the opportunity to do something, shouldn't we?" No. Ronald Reagan's famous quote comes to mind: The 9 scariest words in the english language are "I'm from the government and I'm here to help." We don't even know what's causing the mental health crisis our children are facing. Perhaps the answer is the find the root cause instead of medicalizing our children. This is when a study is in order.
