A Youngsville resident with connections to Citizens for a New Louisiana, claimed that Trahan lived outside the Youngsville city limits prior to qualifying on July 18.

Citizens for a New Louisiana agreed with Homza that the state’s election laws were among the best in the country.

[Citizens for a New Louisiana] claimed Broussard city officials were violating state open meeting laws after the mayor [admitted] in a now-removed video that the city has several advisory committees... It is unclear where Citizens for a New Louisiana obtained the video.

State Sen. Valarie Hodges, sponsored a bill that expanded the Livingston Parish Library Board from seven to nine members, a move widely viewed as an attempt to shift board control in favor of Citizens for a New Louisiana-aligned members.

Smith added that the issue blew up on social media after an “outside” group called Citizens for a New Louisiana enflamed the situation.
