DESCRIPTION:Join us for Secret Lunch this Friday at a new location: Bailey’s Seafood / Ema’s Cafe. Roya Boustany had to reschedule due to a court hearing. Fortunately\, Opelousas are District Attorney Chad Pitre\, who was scheduled to appear at our next lunch\, was able to rearrange things to attend this week. \nBailey’s is generally closed for lunch on Friday\, so we’ll have the restaurant all to ourselves. DESCRIPTION:We’re continuing our bi-monthly (every other week) lunch meetings at Vermilionville. At this meeting we’ll be talking about engaging with your local community for the betterment of local government. If you’ve attended any of our January lunches\, you should have received a google map with your neighborhood / precinct. We’ll be reviewing how you can use these maps and other data to help us educate the local community. If you haven’t received your map yet\, shoot us an email. \nWe’ve been charging $13 for the buffet style lunch\, however\, that rate didn’t include tax or coffee. As a result\, we’ve been losing about $2 per person. So\, moving forward\, the new rate will be $15 per person. Hopefully\, that’ll allow us to break even on these lunches. \nVemilionville is continuing the seafood tradition at least until the end of Lent (March 2nd – April 14). The $15 plate lunch this week will include their very popular seafood cornbread (which is like an étouffée style seafood stuffing with shrimp and crawfish)\, Fried Catfish\, vegetable side\, and a buttermilk biscuit. Chicken and sausage gumbo\, iced tea\, and bread pudding will also be available.
